The effectiveness of moxibustion treatment on D-galactosamine induced liver injury was examined in albino rats. After the stimulation of Shin-Su, Gan-Su and Joong-Wan loci several enzyme activities, and thymol turbidity test, the changes of albumin, total protein and total cholesterol contents were investigated in serum.
1. As compared with control group the activities of GOT, GPT, ALP, LDH, a-HBD and TTT, the levels of total cholesterol in serum were significantly decreased by the moxibustion stimulation of Shin-Su, Gan-Su and Joong-Wan loci.
And the contents of albumin, total protein in serum were not changed remarkably.
2. The maximum effectiveness of moxibustion stimulation were showed in 3rd day, effects of Gan-Su and Joong-Wan treatment and its effect appeared Gan-Su, Shin-Su and Joong-Wan in order.
Based on the above results it is suggested that moxibustion treatment shorten recovery of the hepatic function in D-galactosamine intoxicated liver.
